Finishing the "Cave Paintings"
1st graders are finishing up their cave paintings/drawings this week. I spent the morning outside spraying them with fixative to keep the chalk pastels from smearing. It's a bit of a stinky job!
We read the book The Cave Painter of Lascaux by Roberta Angeletti this week.
And if you missed the link in the previous post about our cave paintings here is the link again to the CAVE TOUR. The kids really loved watching it. We pretended to take an airplane to France, then pretended to put on our hard hats, head lights, boots, and jackets to go into the cave. Then, we searched for animal paintings using the cave tour.
