4th Grade
It's been a busy month in the art room for 4th graders. We managed to sneak in two last projects to end our years of elementary art with some style! First, we did an abstract expressionism painting in Helen Frankenthaler's style. We poured paint onto canvases to get these fun abstract paintings.
Then, we finished off the year by talking about gesture drawings. We had students stand on a table and model some movement for the class. We drew our classmates using gesture lines, or quick sketchy lines, to show movement. Then, we used our drawings to make a lino cut printmaking project in Keith Haring's style.
Whew! All artwork is coming home this week or next. We had such a fun year in the art room. I'm going to miss this crew of 4th graders!!
