3rd Grade
In 3rd grade, we have been studying the art of Georgia O'Keeffe. We learned that Georgia O'Keeffe liked to paint flowers super up close as if the viewer were the size of a bug. We began by drawing realistic flowers zoomed in super close. Currently, we are trying our hand at some watercolor experiments that Mrs. Compton learned from her teacher in college, the purple lady. We've been adding all sorts of odd things to paint- bubble wrap, plastic wrap, salt, rubbing alcohol- just to name a few! We are looking forward to trying out these unusual painting techniques next week on our own flower paintings. Here is a sample of Georgia O'Keeffe's work.
