1st Grade
This month, 1st graders are learning about the cave paintings of Lascaux. First we heard a story about a boy named Marsal, his dog, Robot, and three friends who discovered a cave full of animal paintings in France in 1940. It turns out, the paintings are over 17,000 years old! We discussed the kind of people who probably made these paintings. Then, we took our very own tour of the cave. You can tour the cave at home by cliking HERE. Now, first graders are hard at work creating their own versions of cave paintings using toy animals as models, paint, and chalk pastels.
